If you own that "fixer upper" that needs a little TLC, then call the Renovators.
Steve and Des at Renovators stock everything from magnificent 1930s bay windows through to taps, bricks and claw baths.
Their knowledge of the task at hand can help you get the most out of your renovation giving advice as to what will suit your home and budget.
According to Steve, the majority of clients are carrying out extension work or what he calls "Character Restoration".
"In the seventies and eighties people removed pieces from older homes and removed the character. Aluminium joinery may suit modern homes but can look out of place in cottages, villages and bungalows."
With the high demand for genuine joinery and fittings, people are searching for their own piece of the twentieth century. Where those pieces are unavailable, Renovators can also supply you with an equivalent. Renovators have recycled rimu products, including French doors and vanities, made to measure, using only salvaged rimu from demolition sites.
Up until recently "brand new" cast iron clawfoot baths have been extremely difficult to obtain and prohibitively expensive.
This has now changed and Renovators now stock a range of imported European cast iron claw baths. There is no comparison in quality. The enamel is baked on to the baths while the cast iron is still red hot and then the baths are put back into the furnace to allow the enamel to totally laminate the cast iron. The three models currently available are the top of the range Slipper, the Dual and the Roll Top. The Slipper and Dual models are virtually impossible to obtain 2nd hand, so it is quite fortunate that Renovators have access to brand new models.
Whichever of the genuine clawfoot bath you choose you will not only have a proper deep comfortable bath which retains the heat you will also have a stunning bathroom which will automatically increase the value of your home.
Now that's a cast iron investment.
For unbiased and professional advice, Steve, Daniel and Andrew are more than happy to look at your plans and make recommendations.
